A table tennis match is played over games to 11 points, and a game must be won by two clear points. Matches are usually the best of five games, and the best of seven at the biggest events. The serve passes after every two points, and after every single point once the game reaches ten all.

The top players meet on the World Table Tennis (WTT) tour, from Contender events to the Champions series and the Grand Smashes, as well as at the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Below them, national leagues and daily league formats keep matches going every day of the year.
