How can a 25-23 set matter in two different markets?

In a set that ends 25-23, the winner takes one set and the two teams contribute 48 points to a set-points total. A set handicap uses the number of sets each side wins across the match. The two-point margin within this set does not enter that calculation.

In a best-of-five match the teams must split the first four sets, forcing a fifth. A 3-1 result ends the match after four sets.

What does +1.5 sets give the underdog?

A team that loses 2-3 still covers +1.5 sets. A 1-3 loss leaves it two sets behind, outside the handicap.
